What makes base soaps different?

Let's review some information about the base soap ingredients we use to make our products.
What is a soap base? A soap base is the main ingredient in soap making. It is made by combining oils or fats with lye, a strong alkali. The lye reacts with the oils or fats to form soap and glycerin.
What are the different types of soap bases? There are many different types of soap bases available, each with its own unique properties.
The first distinct characteristic is whether a soap is a clear base or a white base.

Clear Base Soaps

Clear-based soaps are made with liquid oils, such as coconut oil, olive oil, and palm oil. These oils are clear and transparent, so they give the soap a clear appearance.

White Base Soaps

White-based soaps are made with solid oils, such as shea butter, cocoa butter, and tallow. These oils are opaque, so they give the soap a white appearance.

The next distinction is the origin of the soap ingredient, such as the following types of base soaps:

What should you look for in a soap base?

When choosing a soap base, there are a few things to keep in mind:
First, is your skin type: Choose a base that is suitable for your skin type. For example, if you have dry skin, choose a base that is moisturizing.
Next, is the desired properties. Consider the properties you want your soap to have. For example, if you want a soap that is antibacterial, choose a base that contains honey or tea tree oil.
Last, is the fragrance. If you want your soap to have a fragrance, choose a base that is scented.
